PROFESSIONAL TAXICAB DRIVER
Being a professional taxicab driver is a challenging and rewarding career. Driving a taxicab is like running your own small business. As an independent contractor, you pay in advance to rent the taxicab and then you set your own work schedule. Twelve hour shifts are available working either days or nights, or you can lease a taxicab for a 24 hour shift giving you maximum flexibility in setting your hours. Hard work, self-motivation and dedication to providing good service to your customers will be rewarded with above average income and a great feeling of accomplishment.
To be considered for leasing a taxicab from one of American United’s affiliates, potential drivers must be at least 23 years old, have a valid Wisconsin drivers license and a public passenger vehicle license with a taxicab (T) endorsement as issued by the City of Milwaukee.
PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL VAN DRIVER
As with a taxicab driver, medical van drivers are self-employed, independent contractors. Unlike taxicabs however medical vans cannot transport general public passengers. Medical van drivers only provide transportation for individuals traveling to and from medical appointments. Drivers of medical vans are able to work daytime hours Monday through Friday only.

American United affiliates operate both taxicab wheelchair vans and medical van wheelchair vans. Taxicab wheelchair vans operate under the same rules as a regular taxicab with the exception that drivers are required to have a “T” and “H” endorsement on their PPL licenses. These vehicles may also transport the general public and can be available to drivers seven days per week, twenty four hours per day.
